Happy Wrensday!
I really had to trawl through the archives (all the way back to October) to find some wren based shots that I hadn't already shared with you all. I like to tell my husband I'm keeping things fresh when he turns up and I've cut myself a brand new fringe (note to husband: please mention my new fringe) and why shouldn't you guys have all the fresh stuff too 😂
Did a stupid 'walk for health' yesterday morning - you know, no camera, try to move above a snails pace, wear tights yada yada yada - and wouldn't you know it, a damn Black-Shouldered Kite circled and caught a rat and proceeded to eat it in front of me. I was so annoyed I promptly ended that walk - no health for you! - and headed home to get the camera...and by the time I got back, the bird had gone. Bugger. So I thought I'd try and photograph one of the millions of wrens that had been throwing themselves at my feet (ok, I may be exaggerating a little) during the stupid, ridiculous health walk. Anyway, of course, once I turned up with the camera they were all gone!
I'm also trying not to take my camera when I go meet friends because I get distracted and not everyone appreciates my 'oh-don't-mind-me-I'm-just-going-to-step-out-and-take-some-photos-of-this-thing-that-has-just-shown-up' mid lunch. And wouldn't you know it, at the end of a camera free lunch with two very lovely, inspiring friends, dolphins turned up! Just two and only lazily swimming up the beach, so no acrobatics thank god because that would have broken my little BZ heart, but still! So these Variegated Fairy-Wren photos are from a time that I wasn't too stupid to not take the camera with me 🙄
