"text": "Not much of a story with this one but I thought the photos were fun in a creepy, what-the-hell is that? kind of way.\n\nOnce again, the green waste bin is where all the action is at. I swear I've seen everything on that bin, including a stick insect laying an egg! \n\nAnd once again, it was Matt who made this find. We were actually chatting about this ability of his the other day (I mean, we've been married 18 years now and we've covered most topics a few times over so we're always on the lookout for something fresh to talk about 🤣). He now wears glasses to read and there's this sweet spot about a metre-ish in the distance where he can see perfectly and we reckon that's how he notices all the cool stuff. Whatever it is, I hope he doesn't change!\n\nI got a text that said, \"Want to see a cool caterpillar?\" Hell yeah I did. Men, please note: THIS is the way to a woman's heart. \n\nBy the time I grabbed my camera this hawk moth caterpillar (a privet hawk moth I think) was balancing on the tip of a tendril of jasmine that was snaking its way out of the big, green bin. It looked very dramatic, what with its fat body and its little bitty front feet curled up near its mouth giving it the appearance of a super villain plotting world domination. \n\nLike all good super villains, it needed moving from the green waste bin lest it be squished to oblivion in the wee hours of the next morning and while I was saving its life, I got to do a short photo shoot which I figured was the least it could do for me.\n\nMacro photography is really where it's at. This world just opens up, this tiny little world, where you can see the spiracles on the side of the caterpillar (the little ovals - they're how they breath) and the bumps on that super sharp looking spike. It makes me slow right down. It makes me notice things. It makes me appreciate all the little lives, all the beginnings and endings, happening around my feet. \n\nHawk moth caterpillar\nNorthern Illawarra",
