"text": "There are a few things you need to know about me: firstly, night wanders are my latest obsession and secondly I don't know how to use the red eye reduction tool thing in the apple photos app. There. I said it 😂Still, thought this Ringtail Possum was super lovely, even with red eyes - we all look bad in photos occasionally 😉\n\nI had been feeling flat for a few days. You know that general glumness that is so hard to shake because there is no real reason for it? It's just a nothingness that settles on you like a gentle fog, quietly but totally. The rain had meant I hadn't been heading out and without fail, if I don't get out amongst it regularly, this feeling creeps in. So, just as I was about to crawl in bed, I instead grabbed the torch and the camera and headed out into the steamy, heavy night. \n\nThis guy was sitting silently in the branch of the tree that I post regularly - the one with the blue feeder. The possum who stays in there hasn't been in the temporary home for a few days but I suspect that it has another drey very close by. I'm just going to assume that it's the same possum because wouldn't that be lovely and I'm after lovely stories and lovely endings to these lovely stories, especially at this time of year. But I potted about leaving this one to venture off into the night to feed on leaves, especially the eucalypts that these possums especially love and flowers and fruit. \n\nAnd you know what, I felt better for having had that wander, for seeing the critters, the spiders, the centipedes, the slaters and hearing the bats in the trees and a Powerful Owl in the distance. If you don't already, or you haven't for a while, I highly recommend setting out, even if just for a few steps into your own yard, or to stare out at the ocean or up at the sky. Nature: the great elixir.\n\nCommon Ringtail Possum\nNorthern Illawarra",
