I learnt a few things today:
even if you book a tradesman to turn up at 11:30am that does not mean he will indeed arrive at that time. Or any time. One hour late and I sent a text, called and left a message, two hours late and husby called and left a message and then 3 hours later Matt fixed the damn door himself! (Yay!!!)
I also learnt that if you are really tired and send husby into the shops himself for essentials (milk, juice and wine), when you drive off and ask if he bought chocolate and he says no he did not buy chocolate, it's important to believe that he didn't just say he didn't buy chocolate as part of an elaborate but good natured joke on your behalf, but that he actually 100 percent did not purchase anything made of sugar and cocoa because when you get home and look in the bloody bag for said chocolate you will be sorely disappointed 😭😭😭
Also, tiny praying mantids hanging in your kangaroo paw help to while away the hours while you're waiting for said tradesman and/or chocolate. Excuse the noisy pictures and lack of clarity - what can I say, I'm a handheld, no lighting kind of gal - but this little one (there were two actually) was too cute to not post. Also they're one of the garden good guys and after my encounter (or lack thereof) with one of the trades bad guys, I thought I'd focus on the positive. Plus, all that waiting and you think I got to see anything else but my own damn backyard today?! 😂🙄
