It's so easy to miss the little things when you are focused on the big things instead. I guess you could see this as some sort of metaphor for life itself and if you do, that's awesome because that means I've gone from observing and documenting the wildlife around me, to becoming some sort of guru and as a result I assume that fame and riches await...coooool. We were looking for whales the other day (surprise surpise) in appalling conditions, rain, crazy wind, huge surf and there were quite a few whales around but a bit further out. They were being active but only in spurts; a breach here, a tail slap for a minute or too but not enough to have us glued to the spot. So we wandered. And I came across this colony of Goose Barnacles (or Gooseneck Barnacles) floating on a piece of cuttlefish. So interesting to watch these crustaceans (didn't mention that to husby at the time who has a severe allergy) feeding on tiny particles in the water. A very Attenborough moment - which I happily mentioned several times during the video. Don't worry, I turned me down and put some Kristen Hersh over the top, which is a lot less cringeworthy. Rest assured, once again, I did not have my monopod so the camera is balanced on my knee which is shaking like the knee of a 44 year old woman who has no business crouching down trying to be a monopod so apologies in advance.
