We woke up early this morning - well, it wasn't planned that way, we were actually very rudely woken up by the haunting call of the sometimes resident Powerful Owl. Now, the clock was saying it was 5:18am and I don't know if you're like me, but for the first few weeks after the start of daylight saving I always mentally readjust the clock back to the 'real' time. So. Let's just say that we were rudely awoken by the Powerful Owl at 4:18am (see, it's so much more dramatic when you do it my way). We both leapt out of bed and headed out to see if we could find it. The call was so close and so loud it was almost reverberating through the lounge room but as soon as Matt noisily crashed out the front door the owl...stopped calling? flew away? All we know is that we didn't see the P'owl, that it was freaking cold and that Matt, and not me, was totally and utterly at fault for us missing out on the bird 😉😂 When I woke up for the second time it was raining. Again. And on my day off 😭 But luckily for me there was not only periods without rain but also some sun and for those playing at home, yes, I even got some washing done 😂. Not going to lie, I was actually hoping to see some active whales. I kind of like FB memories because I've only had FB since I've been married (to this husband) so there's no nasty surprises each morning 😂and I was reminded today that a year ago I took some photos of a very active cow and calf just off of Bulli and hey, I'm always happy for a repeat performance. No such luck today though. Instead, I decided to take advantage of the period of no rain and head out onto the sand. Now part of me loves sand while the other (unfit) part despises it. I actually love the feeling of sand on my feet and yes, even throughout the house! But good lord, soft sand walking is not for me. So I headed down onto the wet (read, nice and firm) sand. Now those who have been following for a while know that I love a good penis reference and I also love animals so imagine my joy when I found a heap of Bluebottles - the perfect combo of phallus and wildlife! 😂 Even better there were also a load of the best named animal EVER: By-The-Wind-Sailors and a couple of Violet Snails that feast on the bluebottles and sailors where they all live together, floating on the ocean. Next time you see either Blue Bottles or By-The-Wind-Sailors check out the float or the sail itself, they will either point to the left or the right which dictate where the wind takes them.
