It wasn't a great afternoon for photography today with the light really weird from the overcast skies and all the glare coming off the water. I continually 'blew my highlights' which is a thing, I think, because I hear Matt saying it all the time but I'm not quite sure I know exactly what it means so I use it interchangeably with 'I screwed up the pictures' but this afternoon was so fun sometimes you just have to not care 😂
So seals are known as the doggos of the sea right, and with their big chocolate coloured eyes and their playful nature they totally deserve that title. But let me tell you, Australian Pelicans are the puppies of the air (BIG puppies, but puppies all the same).
Despite the gloominess this afternoon, watching these huge lumps waiting with their bills almost sitting on the prep table as the fishermen cleaned their catch, essentially begging for scraps, made my afternoon. Two in particular would wrestle for the scraps thrown to them in a fishy tug of war with the loser then waddling very quickly back to the table for another try. The only way they could have been more dog-like would have been if one of the Pelicans had rested its head in the lap of the fisherman looking up with pleading eyes for food 😂 Clearly I have dogs, and clearly it's almost dinner time
