I love getting new visitors to our little patch - or new old visitors in this case. Came home from work (ok I came home from work after a quick detour for Vietnamese for lunch - what can I say, I have needs), grabbed the mail and went to head up the stairs only to be faced with a huge Blue-Tongue. Haven't seen one of these guys for ages here - we have dogs in the backyard and dogs and blue tongues do not mix - I'm talking years since we've seen one so was super excited.
Didn't carry my camera to work today so had to make a mad, yet somewhat quiet and not at all alarming to lizards dash up the stairs to grab it. Now these guys are not fast at all. They are like logs with legs really and I guess that's why when they're not being all vegetarian they focus on other slow critters such as snails and slugs for food. But rest assured they are faster than me 😂 Still got a couple of snaps before it climbed into the shrubbery and disappeared.
Note to self: try to work on fitness levels
