Me in the morning: what a perfect day for a whale watch cruise. Narrator: It was NOT a perfect day for a whale watch cruise. Note to self: learn how to read marine reports PRIOR to getting on a whale watch cruise. Didn't get a lot of whale action and what we did get I couldn't take a picture of because 1: the camera couldn't focus with all the motion and 2: I needed both hands to hold on for dear life. Husby needed one hand to hold on and the other to hold the sick bag. We did get to see some absolutely breathtaking wild life though - Australasian Gannets dive bombing the ocean in huge numbers for fish, pods of common dolphins surfing the same waves that we were riding and gorgeous sea eagles. I did get 2 sub par photos of a gannet (and a video of some dolphins I'll post soon) and a really toned bum from squeezing my butt cheeks together from fear for 3 hours. Husby walked away with zero photos, blistered hands and a sick bag. Australasian Gannet (juvenile) Jervis Bay
