I swear there is NOTHING better than crawling into fresh sheets, still warm from a day drying in the sun. So I was feeling pretty good last night snuggling into bed, clean sheets pulled up and under my chin and under a new, fancy schmancy doona cover. Imagine how good I was NOT feeling around four this morning when Matt woke up, groggily saying something about wee! Yikes!!! We threw the covers back and found not one but two wet patches and a very guilty looking puppy. She has NEVER wet the bed before and I was transported back to when my son was little. Oh how I don't miss those days! Matt took off to shower the wee away, while I put on another set of fresh clean sheets. Since I'm trying to be a glass half full kind of gal, I'm thinking how lucky I am, being able to wiggle into clean sheets, not once but twice in one day 🤣 The benefit of being up and about at that hour, is we get to spend some time with the resident critters as they're returning home. It's been ridiculously lovely to have two tawnies in our yard all year. There are a couple of trees they rotate through, trying to maximise the sunshine. Honestly, I'm surprised they've stayed so long as our yard gets less sun than some of our neighbours but it makes me so happy to see them there each morning, and to sing out, "Morning Tony(i)s" as I start my day. This Tawny was sitting, watching the morning start to rise, looking to catch up some last minute dinner and doesn't s/he look damn handsome doing it? Tawny Frogmouth Northern Illawarra
