Trust me, it was a good post. Every joke a winner and every description on point 🤣 Anyway it basically went: lots of waiting, nearly falling, rock clambering, friend chatting, close whales, more close whales, good day. Yay. You get the idea. But the best part of the day started way out on the horizon, with lots of blows but no real noticeable action... until it became very noticeable that is. Suddenly, there were backs everywhere, tails showing all at once and a couple of breaches all in a super tight area, around (I think) eight humpbacks and loads of dolphins!!! To me this really looked like a competition pod, where a pod of young males pursue a solitary female. There's loads of surface activity, lots of action, and it's all very fast and furious. I did also witness what looked to be feeding activity too - I mean, it was all happening. This video, it's a bit long sure, but it's all from the same pod which I think is pretty interesting in itself and from a land-based whale experience, it was pretty damn good. And for a visit that we hadn't even planned but happened thanks to a nudge from a lovely friend, I reckon we can call today a total success!
