Eastern yellow robins are one of my favourite birds - so little, round and sweet (essentially me in bird form so I assume they're also mad for a glass of wine and anything featuring Jamie Dornan).

Trying to snoozle with the pups this afternoon and I heard a thud- you know those ones that make you feel a bit sick? Found a little EYR on the ground after flying into our glass doors.

After warming up and being kept secure (in my hand) and in the dark (in my hoodie pocket) I gave him a thorough check over and then he had a test fly. Still seemed a bit dazed so I bundled him up again and repeated the process. Once he seemed stronger he happily sat in my hand in the sun for a while longer before finally flying up into the trees.
