So I guess sometimes you just get damn lucky!
I normally snooze after work but today I decided to take my camera out for a spin - it's whale season and I am yet to see one this year so was hoping today might be my lucky day. Hung around a local beach for a bit - the ocean was a super weird colour - really murky probably due to all the churned up sand after the recent storms and huge seas. No joy there so I jumped in the car and drove a couple of minutes to the next beach across.
Nothing but a heap of seaweed and erosion - really awful erosion - so I decided to start wandering back to my car. I just happened to walk in the right place, with my head down, at the right time and found the best damn find ever!
Still trying to suss out what it is and a pretty good suggestion has been perhaps a seal skull of some description. Obviously it's pretty worn and pieces have smashed off it. I've now sent pics to the Museum of Melbourne to see if someone can confirm or deny. Really exciting! This thing is bigger than my hand!
