Matt and I went early and stood in the bush, and just let the day dissolve around us. It was beautiful. Calm. The forest humming itself to sleep, while the nighttime creatures started calling. Now don't for a second think that we would have done this by ourselves. Not.a.chance. We're big babies who watch too much horror and the way Matt watches, through a funnel he makes with his hands, doesn't even really count. And yet there we were, thanks to our friend Lou who promised not to murder us and was an amazing guide to boot. I can't put into words just how beautiful it was. The chorus of frogs calling to each other but to my ears, singing just for us. The sound of the water. The strange cool, yet humid night. Perfection. So yes, my frogging cherry has been well and truly popped and I cannot wait to go again (and to practice my night photography skills and my getting down and getting back up again, all of which were very rusty indeed!) As a quick aside, apologies for my absence. Struggling very much with pain and fatigue at the moment and my hips aren't even enjoying the basics of sitting today. So posts will likely be limited for a while longer as I work on getting better (and await my next rheumatologist appt). Thanks for understanding ☺️ Frogs Illawarra
