  "text": "Okay, so firstly and, I should point out, totally and utterly unrelated to the photos, Thursday night I was finally able to tick something off of my bucket list, a thing I have wanted to see FOREVER: bioluminescence!!! And you can probably guess from the lack of the associated photos that I didn't actually get any. I didn't even take my camera.\n\nWe were actually flaked out on the lounge, so much so that I couldn't even be bothered flicking through any of the streaming services and was instead watching Alien 3 replete with ads, ALL the ads. Yes, Alien THREE and no, I'm not ashamed of myself. But I got a hot tip from a friend that some bio had been spotted maybe 20 mins up the road from me. It was late and I really didn't feel like heading out but you've got to try right? And so, instead of heading to that location, I decided to drive south, to a location with no tip. Smart.\n\nWe went to a few different beaches, definitely choosing the less dodgy ones but nothing to be seen. Apart from loads of crabs that upon seeing us, threw their arms in the air and ran waving, frantically into the ocean. So we headed back home safe in the knowledge that not only had we tried, but we'd also gotten to walk on the sand and breathe in the salty sea air in the dark when I got a notification of a confirmed sighting not too far away at all. I looked at Matt with pleading eyes who agreed to drag his jeans back on and to see what could be seen and good lord I'm SO glad we did! \n\nEvery now and then the waves as they rolled in glowed neon blue - so bright against the darkness. We found a patch of undisturbed wet sand and jumped around so that thousands of blue stars exploded at our feet. Totally magical! Fingers crossed we hear of more around in the near future and I'll be better prepared so I can share the love with you all.\n\nCloser on the home front, I've been excited to see one of my favourite Total Bastards the Green Cuckoo Wasp hanging around our yard. This species is teeny and damn fast so I've struggled to get any images but they are so pretty I can't help but keep trying.  Being a Cuckoo Wasp they lay their eggs in the unattended nests of other wasp species and when their larvae hatches they eat either the food left for the host wasp larvae, the other larvae itself or both.
