The Eastern Spinebills are so used to us now, lazing around or working or reading or chatting next to the little garden patch, that they no longer even think twice about flying in, their wings making that gentle clapping sound they do, and feeding on the salvia. Like little humming birds they hover allowing their curved bill and super long tongue to get right inside the flowers to the nectar inside. We're so used to them, we hardly even bother to lift the camera even more. Sign of us being a tad spoiled with the wildlife around here I reckon. I can hear them pip, pip, pipping away outside now and I'm not running to get photos. Also, it's a little bit cold outside and I'm a delicate flower (and still in my pyjamas at 10am!) I'm working on a little project (a very exciting and somewhat frustrating project) that a lot of you have asked for over the years. I'm going to be pulling back from Facebook a bit. My last post reached just over 700 people and I have almost 6000 followers - all the while I'm receiving messages from Facebook asking for me to pay real world money to ensure my post reaches the people who want to see my posts. Go figure. So I'll be funnelling the majority of my awesome (if I do say so myself) original content into my project. I will still post here but not sure how much at this point so it's as big a mystery to me as it is to you. I do have a website which is in desperate need of an overhaul and an update and that's on the list as well but thought I'd put it out there as I know a lot of you are choosing to leave socials. So just a short post today because this project isn't going to project itself you know 😉 Stay tuned for the big reveal... Eastern Spinebill Northern Illawarra
