I decided to hang around the house and do sweet FA although I did get into real clothes at one point and back into my pyjamas not too long after that. \n\nWe very occasionally have Eastern Water Dragons in the backyard but most of them are smart enough to stay down the side or out the front because they've learnt that when the dogs are let out the back they barrel down the stairs, snorting and huffing and puffing and sniffing and peeing on any spot that may have been crossed by a creature not themselves. So, yeah, Garden Skinks don't mind it because they can wriggle under leaf litter quick sticks but the Dragons, who can hold their own skittling away as needed, tend to prefer the areas where they can hang and enjoy the sun. \n\nSo I was not expecting this young one. At all. Not in the slightest. We had one of those moments where we both spotted each other but as I was already walking down the stairs, carefully too as I've fallen down those face planting in the dirt too many times, I couldn't really stop for fear that my feet would tangle in themselves and so I bounced down those stairs and headed straight for that lizard. By the time I got to it, it had realised that I couldn't stop myself, I was a human momentum machine (rest assured this is the only time I'll ever refer to myself as a machine) and so it pulled itself up and scurried to the fence line to assess what I was all about. \n\nIt soon learnt that if you enter my yard you're expected to pose and smile for the camera. Not related at all, but I'm currently looking for a strapping tradie to put up a new gate for me ๐Ÿ˜‰\n\nEastern Water Dragon\nNorthern Illawarra", "media": [ { "url": "https://scontent.fsyd3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/126035289_1482738565245781_559978934865615974_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_tt6&cstp=mx1742x1306&ctp=s1742x1306&_nc_cat=110&_nc_map=urlgen_bucketless&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=K7oR-AXynMEQ7kNvwHaXDUK&_nc_oc=AdoQRWRiny12OnPXQB0d21-j8_s32zOX3CxdP-odb_V3fbIhs3vysY3UF-6Gu2ZWZA8&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fsyd3-1.fna&_nc_gid=_N6x-BuO3atzACHbhisekw&_nc_ss=7f2a8&oh=00_AQSIvFNK6hUXYrqYmdCMu1VXY7xHE_L9e-9bshWrkxusig&oe=6B17C83A", "reported_width": 1742, "reported_height": 1306, "id": "1482738561912448", "kind": "image", "role": "photo", "resolution_status": "facebook_photo_viewer_largest_exposed", "original_verified": false, "alt": "No photo description available.", "origin": "post", "status": "downloaded", "local_path": "posts/1482738805245757/assets/1-1482738561912448.jpg", "content_type": "image/jpeg", "bytes": 229035, "downloaded_from_url": "https://scontent.fsyd3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/126035289_1482738565245781_559978934865615974_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_tt6&cstp=mx1742x1306&ctp=s1742x1306&_nc_cat=110&_nc_map=urlgen_bucketless&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=K7oR-AXynMEQ7kNvwHaXDUK&_nc_oc=AdoQRWRiny12OnPXQB0d21-j8_s32zOX3CxdP-odb_V3fbIhs3vysY3UF-6Gu2ZWZA8&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fsyd3-1.fna&_nc_gid=_N6x-BuO3atzACHbhisekw&_nc_ss=7f2a8&oh=00_AQSIvFNK6hUXYrqYmdCMu1VXY7xHE_L9e-9bshWrkxusig&oe=6B17C83A", "sha256": "c86f6ed2f69871704b4aabca37976105e1cdb835eff05f93409dd688c7de48f8", "saved_width": 1742, "saved_height": 1306 }, { "url": "https://scontent.fsyd3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/125546541_1482738618579109_378777142318514554_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_tt6&cstp=mx1944x1458&ctp=s1944x1458&_nc_cat=100&_nc_map=urlgen_bucketless&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=fKLmkIHvxB0Q7kNvwH3m5Fy&_nc_oc=AdrFYhD55wqHK5obVAH0Oxg-ib5SVYzHJ9-AXuedFPQftCSFN-6q0Gm4tnPTd84K81I&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fsyd3-1.fna&_nc_gid=zTzYbQzfQeQ7cia8zC2Fbw&_nc_ss=7f2a8&oh=00_AQTmgPed51VNh4uWFdT2S0AcnDmrq6Gfip_5MhfJDiZQhQ&oe=6B17C93B", "reported_width": 1944, "reported_height": 1458, "id": "1482738615245776", "kind": "image", "role": "photo", "resolution_status": "facebook_photo_viewer_largest_exposed", "original_verified": false, "alt": "No photo description available.", "origin": "post", "status": "downloaded", "local_path": "posts/1482738805245757/assets/2-1482738615245776.jpg", "content_type": "image/jpeg", "bytes": 418826, "downloaded_from_url": "https://scontent.fsyd3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/125546541_1482738618579109_378777142318514554_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_tt6&cstp=mx1944x1458&ctp=s1944x1458&_nc_cat=100&_nc_map=urlgen_bucketless&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=fKLmkIHvxB0Q7kNvwH3m5Fy&_nc_oc=AdrFYhD55wqHK5obVAH0Oxg-ib5SVYzHJ9-AXuedFPQftCSFN-6q0Gm4tnPTd84K81I&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fsyd3-1.fna&_nc_gid=zTzYbQzfQeQ7cia8zC2Fbw&_nc_ss=7f2a8&oh=00_AQTmgPed51VNh4uWFdT2S0AcnDmrq6Gfip_5MhfJDiZQhQ&oe=6B17C93B", "sha256": "8920f1fe26ed8a9f52cedf055af14f4954f3ff2e45dc4c073d37b1590543b9ae", "saved_width": 1944, "saved_height": 1458 }, { "url": "https://scontent.fsyd4-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/126316875_1482738641912440_7196933975023828376_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_tt6&cstp=mx1716x1287&ctp=s1716x1287&_nc_cat=109&_nc_map=urlgen_bucketless&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=v8ffEQvIdcEQ7kNvwHkOw11&_nc_oc=Ado6vAjIiU9waK28ixm7SNoWrj--eLoyR0vz8WTuucHCRB44_UECo09zARgYIm26TAs&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fsyd4-2.fna&_nc_gid=zULhZRIvieqrEYw2bq60_Q&_nc_ss=7f2a8&oh=00_AQSEzwIyUCzMeatBhos2Ol_Oacfr1ymmZ7z1skqnxeKKEw&oe=6B17A36F", "reported_width": 1716, "reported_height": 1287, "id": "1482738638579107", "kind": "image", "role": "photo", "resolution_status": "facebook_photo_viewer_largest_exposed", "original_verified": false, "alt": "No photo description available.", "origin": "post", "status": "downloaded", "local_path": "posts/1482738805245757/assets/3-1482738638579107.jpg", "content_type": "image/jpeg", "bytes": 297734, "downloaded_from_url": "https://scontent.fsyd4-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/126316875_1482738641912440_7196933975023828376_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_tt6&cstp=mx1716x1287&ctp=s1716x1287&_nc_cat=109&_nc_map=urlgen_bucketless&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=v8ffEQvIdcEQ7kNvwHkOw11&_nc_oc=Ado6vAjIiU9waK28ixm7SNoWrj--eLoyR0vz8WTuucHCRB44_UECo09zARgYIm26TAs&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fsyd4-2.fna&_nc_gid=zULhZRIvieqrEYw2bq60_Q&_nc_ss=7f2a8&oh=00_AQSEzwIyUCzMeatBhos2Ol_Oacfr1ymmZ7z1skqnxeKKEw&oe=6B17A36F", "sha256": "6fdd6eb1f9db18d86f05fa12c8f21afa0ae4ec7ac080350cd9246ebda6427c2d", "saved_width": 1716, "saved_height": 1287 } ], "music": [], "music_status": "none_exposed", "warnings": [], "shared_post": null, "archived_at": "2026-11-08T09:37:16.095215+00:00", "expected_photo_count": 3, "post_type": "post", "title": "Backyard Zoology ยท 20 November 2020", "expected_attachment_count": 3 }
