We headed out this morning to search for whales as Matt hasn't had too many up close and personal experiences this season but the ocean was still and quiet, on the surface at least and neither of us really had the staying power today for some reason. We wandered over the rocks for a little while, neither of us wanting to be the first to bail, but after maybe half an hour I suggested we head to nearby Killalea State Park instead, proving once again that I'm the genius in the relationship ๐Ÿ˜‰ This little lizard was sitting super still, just off of the steps, basking on a rock. I very nearly didn't see him as I walked over to try and locate the source of some serious rustling going on in the grass just to the side of the path. I looked down spotting this little fellow looking back up at me, just as my foot stomped down only a few centremetres away, the little guy still not moving. This was one chilled critter. We sat and watched him for a while as he jumped up onto little sticks and branches, rubbing his head on them occasionally, probably trying to loosen some skin that was still shedding off of his head. While we didn't see any others (their camouflage is pretty awesome after all), this lizard obviously did as he spent a bit of time waving his front right arm around, speaking the (body) language of his people. After such a lovely little encounter that took almost no effort at all, we decided to pack up and leave and not push our good luck any further. Thoughts to the person who had discarded a pair of knickers next to my parked car, knickers that had the word 'Monday' printed across the band in bright pink lettering. Some people are completely disgusting! I mean, who wears their Monday undies on a Saturday?!? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Jacky Dragon Killalea State Park
