This time last week I was able to finally witness something I’ve been dreaming of forever: I got to see not one but TWO platypus in the wild!!!

I was so lucky to spend five nights in Hobart with @chrissylovetree who is not only an incredible travel buddy but the op shop queen! We had a ball but I was hyper fixated on seeing a platypus- she’d already seen a few herself but still helped me to try to spot one at Cascade gardens on our first night.

We saw nothing, she ended up sliding down a muddy hill (and still looked fab doing it!) and I thought that was that.

But luckily for me, I was able to book a two hour two with the #theplatypusguardian himself, Pete Walsh. Super generous with his time and super knowledgeable, Pete made sure we all had an unbelievable experience.

And look! While we got to see a lovely platy swimming and duck diving around the boulder trap, this second platy actually leaving the water and hunting around the edge of the rivulet was next level special.

I’m still buzzing a week later!
