This young Australian Magpie caught itself a lively skink and by lively I mean still wriggling and bouncing around well after it had been caught and carried around in the Magpie's bill. Now, I expected to see that skink struggle but it didn't seem like this youngster did. At all! It went from strutting around with its snack to dropping it and hopping back in surprise as the lizard twisted and turned at its feet. It tried a few more times, picking it up after spitting it out and giving it a long hard look as it slowed down on the concrete.
Somewhere between catching that skink and finally letting it go, the curious maggie seemed to consider turning veggo, leaving the lizard behind and instead having a try of some blades of grass. Like my son who used to sit at the table and gag if given rice to eat, the youngster spat that out in disgust as well and ended up looking for insects instead!
