I always appreciate sexy with a shot of funny and this bird has it in spades - a totally handsome looking bird, until you get in nice and close and you catch a glimpse of those eyebrows and that bill 😂🙌😂 They always look like you've just told them a joke and they either love it and can't stop laughing or they hate it and are totally judging you!

Was brilliant to have another visit to the Wollongong Botanic Gardens and in all honesty, this Spoonbill was the reason I went again today. There were two there yesterday and I turned up with totally the wrong lens, too short for the job and so I bitched and complained and dragged my feet and muttered under my breath about what a big dummy I was and then not even under my breath but out loud to anyone who would listen 😂 But I'm nothing if not persistent and so I packed my long lens and went to try again despite the dodgy looking weather.

And just look at this face! Totally worth it.
