I posted the video of the Powerful Owl the other night, so I thought it only fair that I post some photos of their favourite food! 😲😲😲 Alas, it's true, the gorgeous Ringtail Possum is number one on the P'Owls meal of choice and will often be seen sans head, dangling from the owl's talons during the day - a pretty gruesome tale of the night before. As we live surrounded by eucalypts we have loads of these fluffies passing through the yard. They'll also eat flowers and fruit and the leaves from other native plants. They're just so much more, I don't know, lady-like? delicate? well mannered than the big boofy Brushtail Possums so there's no eating of candles or going through the bin by these lovelies. How cute is this adult and juvenile??? 😍 I still think that brushies are cuter though. The Ringtail's beady eyes freak me out a tad for some unknown reason but as a package with their little high pitched trills and their white-tipped tails curled up tightly, they're the real deal. It's breeding season now - from about April through to November - so hopefully there'll be some new (cute but not as cute as Brushtails 😂😉) bubbas around soon! Ringtail Possums Northern Illawarra
