Ah, about last night. We were woken not once, not twice but three freaking times (and trust me I wrote something other than freaking but deleted it because I'm practicing being a better human ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) by the ear piercing screech of the smoke alarm. No smoke of course. I probably just breathed out too heavily. But once you stumble out of bed, fall into a light switch, blind yourself after being suddenly bathed in the 'daylight' style hall light, fumble for the broom, whack the smoke alarm with probably just a little too much rage, I mean vigour and you do this three times over several hours, you kind of give up on sleep. So I got out of bed and started to make myself a: welcome to the day you, look at you go and get out of bed, will you be showering today madam? cup of coffee, only to backhand the cup across the kitchen. Yay. I've got say though, I was productive as hell today so maybe I should be thanking that godforsaken, piece of ... But before that, the night was brilliant! Matt headed out early evening to wrangle the dogs that had started to bark at... something. Just as he opened the security door to start counting them in (what? my dogs can count! Backwards. And are ALWAYS in by the time we get to zero from three. Sure I have to yell, "Three, Two and three quarters, two and a half..."๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰) Tony the Tawny made a very fast, swoop from out the front and into our back tree! We grabbed torches and my camera and got a blurry photo but with those ridiculously yellow eyes wide open. It was great to watch him turning his head with every sound, on the hunt as soon as night fell. And just as we went to leave him be and head back inside, Matt just by accident, flashed the torch across the entire tree and we found this Brushtail Possum absolutely still and hanging upside down ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I suspect he might have been on his way down the tree when he spotted the dogs and assumed the position. I didn't want to let on that we could see him because he was doing such a good job of not moving so without another sound we turned off the torches and crept back into the house.
