Gale force winds but sun. And if you thought I was going to miss the opportunity for getting out and about in that delicious warmth and just revel in the great outdoors, you don't know me at all. So I walked 100 metres down the road ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Thankfully for me, I came across this gorgeous little Jumping Spider having lunch (he was having lunch, I was just wandering around thinking about eating cake). \n\nJumping Spiders have been my gateway drug to other spiders. I mean, they are just so damn cute and fluffy and they move their little palps up and down like a puppy dog begging. And those eyes. And eyes. And eyes. And eyes ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰ Having said that, a massive frond from our king palm tree dropped with a bloody loud crash today and with it down came a massive Huntsman Spider. No doubt about it, they are a good looking spider. But one doesn't just have a huntsman drop on their head in the shower causing them to crash through the (thankfully plastic) screen and get over it any time soon. When it lifted up onto its legs and started to scurry very quickly near my feet I ran backwards. Who knew the human body could propel itself in the opposite direction so quickly! \n\nBut the jumpers, I can get up real close to with not a worry in the world. Actually as I was snapping this little cutie, another one jumped on my arm and the only thing I was worried about was if I could get a photo of it on me, without my skin looking all gross under magnification. Spoiler alert: I could not. So yes, there's loads of photos of this spider doing the same thing but I'm here to spread cuteness and this little guy made me super happy today and I'm hoping it will do the same for you tonight.\n\nStay safe (and stay home)\n\nJumping Spider with prey\nNorthern Illawarra", "media": [ { "url":
