I can hear the Green Catbirds meowing and tinking away in the neighbour's yard. They always start nice and early and often end up in our front yard, resting, scratching and knicking berries from the palm. I've been trying for a couple of days now to get half decent photos but the light's been very bright and shiny, the birds have been very uncooperative and bouncy and it's happened pre coffee so no shame here. But I'm not even going to try this morning because let's be honest, I am currently enjoying my morning coffee and I haven't quite yet got around to that putting on a bra thing, so yeah, meow away all you like birds, you'll get no love from me today! (Well, maybe later).
I thought I'd pop this video up quickly. I've been trying out the slo-mo on the phone and got a bit of action in my tiny little garden patch with three different species coming to visit the basil in particular and the various salvias. It's not overly clear as you can't shoot slo-mo in 4k and I'm still trying to suss out the best focal point but good lord it's fascinating watching these bees going about their way, the different ways that they fly, especially the erratic movements of the Blue-Banded Bee (hello, my spirit animal!!!), the focused feeding of the European Honey Bee and the little butt up pose of the Leaf-Cutter.
Happy Friday!
