It was stupidly hot yesterday. Nudging, and possibly bubbling over 40 degrees. Just how uncomfortable it was, was demonstrated by our garage Brushtail Possum who had pulled up stumps and moved to sleep in the tree outside! But it made for a lively night walk with me spotting possum (side tree), possum (eating the watermelon I left out the front for anyone who needed an energy and water hit), possum (on top of our bins), possum (our gate) and possum (tree down the road) 😂🙌
But Matt didn’t get the title of husband of the year by doing nothing! Instead, he came rushing (quietly) up waving his arms around wildly mouthing... something. I had to get right up into his face to find out exactly what it was that he had found. A Swamp Wallaby just down a little way, munching a leafy something next to the creek!
Of course I didn’t have my camera because I’m a complete and utter amateur and the phone wasn’t quite up to the task but after the heat and the drought and the dust and the ash, it’s so good to see life continuing. And now it’s storming and raining. A good, heavy rain! And it’s filling the creek and watering the plants and washing away the crap. Happy Friday everyone!
