Backyard Zoology ยท 8 March 2026 2026-03-08T18:04:21+11:00 https://www.facebook.com/backyardzoology/posts/pfbid0AiQf62pfcZvi2Q8PxLVGX1FaLSY5HqCpnom4CXjucigjoqBE17tgsKSDe5hk72GNl I've spent a couple of days reacquainting myself with my camera, stalking around by myself - and a few dozen very hungry leeches. The rain has brought out the fungi in so many shapes and sizes. There is absolutely nothing like fungi hunting. The smell of the earth, as the bugs busy themselves, as the leaves fall and rot and finally, disappear. Life in its teeniest forms, pushing up out of the dirt or on sticks and underneath debris. It rewards those with patience, and I've got to say, that hasn't been me at all lately. But by slowing down, breathing in that heady, earthy scent, sloshing in mud and peering into the darkness, I found so much beauty that I had almost forgot existed. #fungihunting #mushrooms #fungiofaustralia #backyardzoology #fungi
