Sometimes I think I’m the luckiest girl in the world... and then something ridiculously wonderful happens and I realise I never knew just how lucky. I have to give a massive shout out to Lorna Hobbs who has been following this page for a while and who is an incredibly talented sculptor.
After reading my little, quickly put together and poorly written ‘about me’ that Facebook insisted I fill out and that lists the various things that have got me to this point: working with wild devils, trying Zoology, moving to zoo keeping and then illness (can I use the word journey? Can I? Can I please? 😂), she contacted and said she wanted to make little ol’ me my very own sculpture!!!!!!!
And he arrived last week. My very own Tasmanian Devil snoozing quietly and who is so smooth and delicious and he fits perfectly in the palm of my hand and feels like the totem I never knew I needed but totally did, and who has pride of place in my lounge room and who I can’t resist giving a gentle rub when I walk past ❤️
I am totally in love and grateful beyond words that she has immortalised the animal that represents me upping and following my dreams before I really knew what they were and then me moving to a more hands on rather than solely science based focus and the memories of my trip keep me going and remind me I can do anything even when I think I can’t.
So thank you Lorna (you can hit her up on her Facebook page as to where you can purchase her amazing work) for reminding me I’m even luckier than I could have believed.
