After two days of torrential rain we have sun, which is absolutely perfect timing as our kitchen floor (and to the back of our cottage) was being tiled today. That does include the toilet area so I have been making a few trips to the library today to ah, enjoy their full range of facilities ie the toilets and we are planning on heading out to dinner because a/our kitchen is inaccessible and b/ there'll be toilets 😂 The good news is that the creek is absolutely pumping and the frogs who have been calling noisily have moved (or at least one of them has) into our yard with a Peron's Tree Frog cackling loudly at us as we ran through the downpour, smashing past the palm and fern fronds hanging over the path last night. So currently I have two upset looking pups because they don't have the run of the house and have to be taken outside on leads but those leads only result in hurried requests to, "Do a wee" rather than the walk that they are both looking for. But even amongst the time trapped at home with various trades and the restriction on mine AND the dogs' bladders, I have had some time sitting outside and by sitting outside I mean picking up dog poo and trying to keep on top of the ever falling leaves from the crazy big gum tree that is no doubt relishing the first decent fall of rain we have had for ages. But where there's outside, there's nature and where there's nature there's critters. The parrots in particular have been flocking in, nibbling at the psyllid on the leaves and at the grass seeds. I have a lot of time for Crimson Rosellas particularly the younger birds that have green through those incredible crimson and vibrant blue/purple feathers and look like some sort of hybrid, a mish mash with maybe a King Parrot or a Rainbow Lorikeet. There's been a few that fly into the gum each day but I got lucky the other morning while waiting outside to see a parent vomiting into the mouth of a juvenile and you all know how much I love vomit 😂😂😂 Let's just say, if that's how humans had to feed their kids, I'd have one very hungry boy!
