Okay so these photos are not the greatest having been shot through water (I need a GoPro. There I said it) and I have some great video which I haven't had a chance to edit yet, so these will have to do.
But, I don't know, these photos just speak to me - two Sea Hares mating away, on the side of the pool wall, not a care in the world, him looking fancy AF while she is face first in her food, not stopping eating the entire time. If that doesn't sum up the perfect Friday night, I don't know what does 😂🙌
Been a really lovely couple of days actually with super low tides which have meant some great rock pooling which I haven't done for ages actually. Yesterday I found a lovely Common Sydney Octopus and got some rubbish photos and video, hence why it's just a fleeting mention and not in its own post but it was so brilliant to spend time with. I wouldn't have even spotted it, except as I was walking past, it couldn't resist sussing out what was going on and sent a couple of enquiring arms out of the water and up the side of a nearby rock to see if I was tasty or not. Spoiler alert: I totally am. But talk about body shaming. Here I was thinking I was walking daintily through the shallows and the octopus was acting like the vibrations were from an elephant! Bloody cheek!
And while probably not quite as exciting to watch, these Sea Hares were still totally lovely. And one day, I'm going to get up the courage to actually swim with them. Not that I'm worried about swimming with these little squishies, I'm just worried about showing my body in public. How annoying is that?! This summer for sure! And by all the yellow ribbons of egg masses around the walls, I think I'll have some friends to swim with too!
