I wish I could say I found this little guy myself but alas, I am short and it was sitting high up. Matt who was being his taller than me self, came over and showed me a photo he'd taken and said, "Is this anything?" So for the spider, mission accomplished. I mean, who would want to eat a bird poo? It's an ingenious form of camouflage.
There's a few different bird poo spiders in Aus but this particular one is a Bird Dropping Arkys or a Small Bird Dropping Spider. I've actually seen this colour form referred to, and not by wannabes like me I should point out, as the Brown Ice Cream Cake form, so yeah, that's a mash up I never thought I'd see!
